Privacy

What we collect, and what we do not.

Engineer View is a static website. We do not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. The only personal data we will hold are email addresses and material you choose to send us.

Visiting the site

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. As with any website, the host receives technical details such as your IP address; GitHub logs visitors’ IP addresses for security purposes. We do not see or store those logs.

Pages load typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser requests them from Google’s servers, which receive your IP address as part of that request.

The email briefing

Signups are not open yet, so we hold no subscriber data. When they open, your email address and the date you signed up will be stored by Buttondown, the service that sends the briefing. You confirm by email before you are subscribed, and every issue includes an unsubscribe link.

We use the list only to send the briefing, and never sell or share it. Before signups open, this section will also say whether Buttondown records which issues are opened and which links are clicked.

Project submissions and corrections

If you email us a project or a correction, we receive your address and whatever you send. We use it to review your submission and to reply. We publish material only with your permission, credited as you agree.

Your requests

You can ask what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it.

We have not yet published a monitored contact address. It will be listed here before signups or project submissions open. Until then, Engineer View holds no personal data from readers.

This notice describes the site as it is today and will be updated before any new form of data collection begins. Last updated 2 November 2026.
